Religious Literacy World Religions

Q The best way to study another religion is to engage members of that religion in conversation, along with the objective study of that tradition via traditional textbooks. When outsiders visit with members of other religions, it could be compared to crossing the border into another territory that is unknown. Those who engage in religious dialogue can think of themselves as border-crossers. • Do you consider yourself an insider to any one religion? • If you’re not religious, do you have a philosophy of life? • As an outsider, what religion do you find most interesting? What religion would you like to study if you had to choose only one?

I am someone who is very friendly towards people of every religion and to be honest, the concept of being with someone based on their religion has never been my way of approach. While growing up, I did not get much opportunity, except for of course playing, to mix with people of other religions. However as I grew up and broadened my social circle, I got the opportunity to interact with people of various faiths and also those without a particular one. I got to learn about various religious beliefs, traditions, and core foundational concepts, but I cannot really count myself as an insider to other religions. The thing is that I might be religion friendly, but I am not really very focused or rigid about religion.
